In the year 2000, the Karnataka Government created a website called Bhoomi to help keep track of land records.
Bhoomi is a project funded by both the Government of India and the Government of Karnataka.
It aims to digitalize the paper land records and create a software system to manage land registry changes in Karnataka.
Before this, all the land records were written on paper, which made it hard to find the right information and often led to mistakes.
The National Informatics Centre handled the development and implementation of the project.
Now, Bhoomi makes it easier for everyone to see land information online.
At present Bhoomi Software having more than 2 crore land records, including important documents like
RTC (Record of Rights, Tenancy, and Crops),
which shows who owns the land, what kind of land it is, and what crops grow there.
In Bhoomi website it’s also provides theĀ “Mutation Services,” which helps update the records when land is sold or transferred to someone else.
Dear Readers you can check the status of these updates on the Bhoomi website.
